Singing River Healthcare Academy is set to host a graduation ceremony to honor students for their completion of Mississippi’s first-ever medical apprenticeship program. The graduation ceremony will be held on October 25, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Pascagoula Performing Arts Center.

The LPN Apprenticeship program is the result of a collaborative effort between Singing River Healthcare Academy and MGCCC LPN Apprenticeship pilot program, which kicked off last Spring.
Singing River Healthcare Academy provides apprenticeship pathways in various healthcare roles, including Licensed Practical Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistants, Surgical Technologists, Sterile Processors, Medical Assistants, and Phlebotomy Technicians. Among those who have completed their certifications, one specific group will be recognized for their completion of the program. Apprentices will be recognized for finishing the didactics and preparing for the NCLEX-PN exam.
Singing River Healthcare Academy was established as the state’s first-ever medical apprenticeship program implemented to provide growth opportunities and career pathways to improve health and save lives in our community through a bigger and better, more diverse workforce. Apprenticeships allow students to receive on-the-job training and classroom learning at no cost. It allows students to earn while learning critical skills to accelerate their careers in the healthcare field. Upon graduation, apprentices will be qualified to accept immediate employment in high-demand specialty areas.
