Requirements for Singing River Healthcare Academy Students
- All programs require applicants to have a GED, high school diploma, or equivalent.
- Students must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Prior to your apprenticeship, you must pass a criminal history check and undergo testing for prohibited drugs and/or alcohol. Applicants receiving a non-negative test result for prohibited drugs and/or alcohol will not be eligible for employment. Applicants refusing to participate in the alcohol and drug testing program will not receive further consideration for employment.

| LPN | – Three years of direct patient care experience. – No attendance or disciplinary actions. – Two-year minimum employment with Singing River Health System. – Attend one of four scheduled information meetings. – Two (2) letters of recommendation from managers and/or providers along with a resume. |

| Surgical Tech | – Only accepting current Singing River Health System employees. – At least one year of documented work in the medical field (Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Associate, Multi-Skilled Technician, Nursing Assistant, etc.), or completion of Anatomy and Physiology or Microbiology at an accredited institution. – Two letters of Recommendation with at least one from a supervisor. – No attendance or Disciplinary Actions on file. |
